Welcome back Year 4!
I hope you are all ready for a TERRIFIC term with lots of fun activities planned. Year 4’s topic this term is the Tudors and we call it The Banquet! We will be learning all about the historic period, the monarchs during this period, food, music and the gruesome crime and punishments. In Y4W, Miss Jennings will be teaching some of your lessons, alongside Mrs Wilson.
We will be using artistic techniques to produce a range of art work, using a variety of different materials, including painting portraits! We plan to design and create a device of Tudor punishment. We also have other fun things organised but you will find out about these later in the term!
In science this term, we will investigate digestion and teeth. We will observe how the Tudor diet and hygiene impacted upon their health. We will explore and compare our diet and hygiene.
PE is every Tuesday and Thursday in both classes. Coaches have been provided for both gymnastics and multi-skills, with the potential to participate in sports events and competition throughout the term. Please make sure you have your PE kit in school. Also, as the weather is quite cold outside, please ensure you have spare outdoor shoes and suitable clothing. A water bottle should be brought into school every day.
Reading books should be in school every day and children should be heard read at least 3 times at home, as per the home/school agreement signed last year.
Homework normally goes out every Friday - please return by Wednesday at the latest.
Spelling tests are every Friday - please return the home spelling books on Fridays.
Remember to check out the children zone and have a great term!
