Value in Everyone

Friday 8th January

This lesson is simply a recap of learning based on the nine times table. I have included a multiplication square grid to provide extra support for your child if their understanding of this times table is not yet secure.

Begin by watching/listening to this song:

Now, watch this trick to help you with your confidence of recalling the nine times table: . When it says 'units' in the video, we now use the updated term 'ones'.

As you can see, you will be completing work on the nine times table but before you do, I would like you to see if you can notice a pattern about the nine times table? Look below at the two images. Look closely at the pattern of the tens and ones. Also, look at what each digit of a value adds up to (tens and ones) e.g. 1 +8, 2+7, 3 +6 etc...

Now, have a go at answering the 'Always, sometimes or never' question below, before moving onto the worksheets (1, 2 and 3).

Finally, complete Activities 1, 2 and 3.
