Friday - Topic

You have just received the letter below from your Aunt Nancy.

Thinking back to yesterdays lesson when you research information about your chosen job, your task for today is to write a letter replying to Aunt Nancy.

You must make sure that you answer all the questions she has asked you in her original letter in as much detail as you can.

Things to include in your letter:

  • Think about the layout/structure of your letter – For example: you should have an opening paragraph thanking Aunt Nancy for sending a letter and how nice it was to hear from her.

In your final paragraph remember to close off your letter – For example: I hope to hear from you soon etc.

  • Use the correct opening (Dear Aunt Nancy, )
  • Answer all of Aunt Nancy’s questions in detail.
  • Varied sentence starters.
  • Rhetorical questions – you might ask Aunt Nancy how she is doing etc.
  • Ambitious vocabulary.
  • Make sure your letter is punctuated accurately.

Below is the letter from Aunt Nancy:

You can either type your letter up on a word document or you can write it in your exercise book.
