# Monday 1st March

Starter

Log on TTR and complete 10 to 15 mins.

Well done to Robin Sawyer, Deacon Arroyo and Ian Strong for the highest accuracy this week (TTR names - these aren't the real names)

Keep up the good work. This week I'm looking for the people who have made the biggest improvement in accuracy.

Main

We are going to start a new topic this week - fractions of numbers.

Before we start our Year 4 work, we are going to recap some learning from last year to make sure we understand what unit and non unit fractions are.

This will also help us to understand what a fraction is.

Remember, that fractions of a whole must all be of the same size.

e.g. you cannot have the bigger half. Each half must be exactly the same size.

If you cut something into sixths, each sixth must be exactly the same size as the other sixths. Think about it as a being a very fair way of sharing things. Each part must get the same as another part.

Watch the video to get you started.
