Welcome back everyone!
We hope you've had a relaxing holiday and enjoyed the snow at the start of the week and the better weather that we've now had this weekend.
Today we'll work on an arithmetic paper to revise the 4 operations and look over the work that we carried out last term.
For Y4 there aren't any questions that I think will trouble you but I want to see you working hard to eliminate simple errors that could be avoided. Make sure you check your answers and ensure that you have carried out the correct operation!
In the Y5 paper, there are a few questions that are challenging. Q11:remember we don't add the denominators,
q12: we haven't learned about percentages yet, q19: divide by the denominator (63 ÷ 7) then take your answer and multiply by the numerator, q27 and 28 are tricky and we haven't learned how to do this yet.
I want you to focus, like Y4, on calculating sensibly, checking that answers make sense and ensuring you are using the correct operation. With things like multiplying or dividing by 10, 100 or 1000 you should now be able to approach these questions confidently. You've had lots of practice!
