Science Club

We had an amazing session today and learned about chemical reactions through making our own volcanoes.  We used play dough to make the actual structure and then used vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and soap to create an eruption.

Today in Science Club we did the most amazing investigation to show the damage that different liquids/substances can have on our teeth.  We took fresh eggs as the shell resembles the enamel on our teeth.  We placed each egg in different liquids – vinegar, coke, juice and water.  Only the egg left in water remained intact.  The others showed damage to the shells and in particular, vinegar showed the worst damage where the shell was gone completely.

We made fireworks in a cup today.  We learned that oil and water cannot mix and explored density of the oil and water in a really fun way.
