Y4: the short 'u' sound spelt 'ou'
trouble, enough, toughest, rougher, young, country, double, touch, youngest, younger.
Y5: words that contain the letter string 'ough'
fought, nought, ought, bought, cough, trough, rough, tough, enough, thorough.
You or your child can choose how they want to learn/practise their spellings. You could still use activities from previous weeks as a guide.
These words are from the national curriculum and cover words pupils frequently use in writing or which are commonly misspelled.
On a Friday, test your child - this can be completed orally and it does not have to be recorded. Also, you do not need to send in evidence of any spelling tasks either.
