Writing

The Ancient Greeks are well-known for their myths. Click on the link to remind you what a myth is. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zx339j6/articles/ztxwsrd

Open the file below called Baucis, Philemon, Zeus and Hermes and read the myth. Does it remind you of a story from the Bible? We are going to write our own version of this myth, but before we do this, we need to practise some of our story telling strategies.

Adding speech to a story. Watch https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zvftsbk to remind you about speech marks.

Write down some speech that Zeus and Hermes might have said to each other. Use a wide variety of speech verbs – see below for some ideas. Use your knowledge of Zeus’s character from yesterday to help show his character in his speech. Don’t forget to start a new line when somebody begins to speak again.

You could do some role play with another member of your family to help you.
