Y5: I hope you did well with your 'always, sometimes and never' challenges yesterday. We discussed in class how trying a few different examples was essential.
Today you are moving on from square numbers to cube numbers. Have a try at the true or false question first; use examples to support your ideas and the answer is attached for you to check.
Next, watch the video https://vimeo.com/474984384 which talks you through today's learning. Pause your video to complete the 'Get Ready' starter questions. The answers will follow once you restart it.
The video asks you if you have small cubes to use while watching (you could try lego or building blocks if you have them) but there are pictures so don't worry if you don't! Follow the video which clearly explains what cube numbers are.
Following the video, move onto the worksheet. Question 8 is a good challenge - show some attempts but don't worry if you don't get the correct answer!
Y4: Today is a problem solving task. The 'factors and multiples puzzle' will really get you thinking! Follow the instructions on the worksheet. You will need an explanation of a triangular number as this is something that we haven't covered in class. Follow this link for an explanation: https://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/triangular-numbers.html Good luck!
