Tuesday

Today we’re going to write the main body of your newspaper article.

Start off by looking back at your plan and reading your orientation.

Success Criteria:

  • Use a range of ambitious sentence openers and conjunctions.
  • Ensure writing is neat and punctuated accurately
  • Use ambitious vocabulary.
  • Write in chronological order.
  • Include direct and reported speech- punctuated correctly.
  • Remain in the past tense throughout.

You could try to include:

  • A relative clause.
  • Modal verbs.
  • A semi-colon.
  • Brackets or dashes for parenthesis.
  • An exclamation mark.

When you’re happy you can start writing the main body of your article. There is an example which might help get you started, remember you have written the orientation (red) and we aren’t going to do the re -orientation today (purple).
