This week is Careers Week.
It’s never too early to start thinking about what you want to do when you are older. There are so many different types of jobs that you can do but where do you even start making that choice?
Today, we are going to start with someone you know. You are going to find out by phoning a family member or a family friend and ask them about their job.
Ask them questions ( a bit like an interview) to find out more information. Ask them what they do (what is their job role), what the challenges of their job are and what makes it fun.
Record your findings anyway you like.
Below are some examples of questions that you may ask but come up with some of your own questions too.
Remember to get permission from your parents or carers at home before you phone anyone. It would be a good idea to get your parents or carers to phone the person that you want to speak too.
- What are the best things about your job?
- What are the biggest challenges in your job?
- What has been the most rewarding moment?
- What skills have you learned doing your job?
- What are your top tips for getting a job?
Remember to ask some of your own questions too.
