Today we will look at non-unit fractions.  This is when the numerator (number on the top), is greater than 1.

After that, have a go at the worksheet below. 

 

Extension - Create a flag (the parts of the flag must be equal), colour parts of the flag and write down the fraction (unit or non-unit) to go with the colours e.g.

You might draw a flag with 8 equal parts.  2/8 might be red, 1/8 might be white etc...
