# Wednesday 6th January

Y5: Begin by watching the video link which introduces / revises square numbers (some of you will have looked at some of these slides on Monday and may not need to watch the full clip). https://vimeo.com/474984047

Simply, a square number is the product of a number being multiplied by itself. For instance 1x1=1 or 10x10=100.

Complete the questions in the attached worksheet called 'Square Numbers'. Some of you will have started this already, so continue from the question you reached in your maths book. When you complete the task, have a try at the 'Always, Sometimes or Never' questions. Take each statement and explain whether it is always, sometimes or never true. Remember you need to prove what you say using evidence or examples!

Y4: Begin by watching the video link which outlines the work some of you began in class on Monday https://vimeo.com/475452114

You all started the work well: any number multiplied by 1 equals itself (71 x 1 = 71 or 876 x 1 = 876) and multiplying by zero, always gives zero (65 x 0 = 0 or 0 x 567 = 0).

Complete the questions in the attached worksheet 'Multiplying by 1 and 0'. Some of you will have started this already, so continue from the question you reached in your maths book. When you complete the task, have a try at the 'Always, Sometimes or Never' questions. Take each statement and explain whether it is always, sometimes or never true. Remember you need to prove what you say using evidence or examples!
