Christmas is Coming!

Christmas is coming!

Christmas is certainly on its way at Jarrow Cross. We are waiting excitedly for our Christmas Tree to arrive and last Friday some of our Year 6 children began the celebrations by performing at The Christmas Lights switch on at Jarrow Town Hall. See last night’s Gazette for some fabulous photos!

On Friday 1st December it is the Friends of Jarrow Cross Christmas Fayre which starts at 3pm. This is taking place as usual in the small hall. School will also be running stalls. We hope to see you there.

On Monday 4th we will celebrate the First Sunday of Advent and light our first candle on our Advent Wreath. We will continue to celebrate each week of Advent on the lead up to our Christmas holidays.

Next week it is all about pantomimes! On Wednesday 6th Year 1 and 2 are off to the Custom’s House to watch Aladdin and on Thursday 7th Years 3-6 are off to the Theatre Royal to watch Pinocchio.

The following week it’s Nativity time! Reception will be performing their Nativity at 2pm on Tuesday 12th December.

On Friday 15th during the morning session starting at 10am our Year 2 children will take the lead with their Nativity and Year 1 will support. The afternoon performance will begin at 2.30pm in which Year 1 children will take the lead and will be supported by Year 2.

On Wednesday 13th our Reception Children are off to visit Santa at Hall Hill Farm and on Thursday 14th it is our Christmas lunch. If your child usually has as packed lunch and would like to join us for Christmas Lunch simply contact the office.

Then the parties begin!! (More information will be sent out about each party next week)

Monday 18th is party time for Reception!

 

Tuesday 19th is a very busy day as it’s party time for Year 1 and Year 5

Wednesday 20th it’s party time for Year 2 and Year 6.

Then it’s the turn of our Y3/4 children to party on Thursday 21st.

Also on Thursday 21st Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be finishing the year with our Carol Service at St. Peter’s Church. This will start at 11am and as usual we would love to see you there.

Some of the children will also be singing at many events throughout December.

On Monday 11th children will be singing at Roseway House. On Tuesday 12th at the Dementia Friendly Event at St. Peter’s Church starting at 2pm.

Wednesday 13th school has a double bill, performing at Stapleton Care Home Care Home at 2pm and then taking part in the Carols by Candlelight Service at St Paul’s Church. This begins at 6pm again we would love to see you there.

Phew then Friday 22nd is our last day of term.

It’s certainly going to be a very busy month!!
