KS2 Athletics Festival

We had a fantastic morning at Monkton Stadium for our Athletics Festival. We had 4 activities that we took part in and we all did brilliantly.

We first of all had to run 75 m in groups of 4. Our times were all taken and the points will be allocated by the super Sports Ambassadors from Boldon Comp.

After that, we had to throw the howler. That's a fat rubber dart like missile with fins made from rubber and 'howls' when you throw it. Again, the points will be added up for this, too.

Following that, we had a 400m race and that was quite tricky, but we all tried our very best and we all had a sprint to finish line. A massive shout out to Lilly who came first in that race with an amazing time of 1 minute and 20 seconds! Well done, Lilly!

Our last activity was a standing start jump. We used our arms to help propel us forward and jump a really long way!

Phew! We were all tired but happy after this and I'm sure that after the points are counted that we'll have done extremely well.
