Letter to Parents from Mrs McBeth 19.11.21

Friday 19th November 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you are all well. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the last few weeks with the reintroduction of certain COVID measures. They are to be reviewed again next week. I will keep in touch with you regarding Public Health advice. Obviously as these extra measures are still under review I am unable at present to update you regarding plans for Christmas events. This means that at the moment I am unable to say whether parents will be able to attend Christmas plays/nativities. I will obviously keep you fully updated once I have further information. Please be assured if parents are not allowed to attend performances they will be recorded and links sent out to for you to access.

Please note Christmas Parties will be going ahead as planned. See below for a reminder of dates.

Reception - Thursday 9th December

Y3/4 - Monday 13th December

Year 2 - Tuesday 14th December

Year 5 - Tuesday 14th December

Year 1 - Wednesday 15th December

Year 6 - Wednesday 15th December

Further information will be sent out nearer the date of each party.

As we are unable to plan for a Christmas Fair, this year in order to raise funds the Friends of Jarrow Cross are holding a ‘Break the Rules Day’ on Friday 3rd December. The children can pay a £1 and break any of our usual school rules eg don’t wear school uniform, have a tattoo, wear a football top! Reminders will be sent out. Regarding Christmas, if you are looking for inspiration for books to buy for your child, check out the Reading for Pleasure section on our website which has lists of age appropriate books which would make lovely presents.

Last Monday we began our parent/teacher discussions, a big thank you to all of you who have made appointments as obviously the best way of supporting your child will always be school and home working together. Please note as many staff are using a mobile, the school number will not come up on your phone at your allocated time, but will simply appear as a withheld number.

Just a little remainder regarding the payment for After School Clubs, could you please give the money to your child to hand in to the class teacher on the morning of their club rather than handing it in at the office.

Have a lovely weekend, and as stated above I will keep you informed with updates from Public Health.

Mrs McBeth
