Letter to Parents from Mrs Mcbeth 19.6.20

Friday 19th June

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you are well. Here is just yet another update of some important information.

We welcomed some of our Year 1 children back to school this week. I am pleased to say it has been a lovely week. They have all settled very well and are just a bit tired from the early morning starts!

Our Year 6 children are due to return on Monday, we are really looking forward to having them back for their final few weeks at Jarrow Cross. The staff are planning transition activities to help support them with their upcoming move to the secondary school.

Thank you to those of you who have got in touch regarding Key Worker places. I have to inform you that we no longer have any spaces available for Key Worker children. As you can imagine the number of children which we can have in school is still dependent upon Government Guidelines.

I am sure you will have heard the good news this week that the Government are now going to provide vouchers for those families in receipt of Free School Meals over the summer holidays. We have as of yet, not received any information regarding how this will work over the summer period, but as soon as we know we will let you know.

Regarding September unfortunately yet again I am unable to give you any clear information about what plans are for schools reopening in September. What I can share with you is that on returning to school there will be a transition period during which all children will be given time to readjust to school life before moving onto new classes and year groups.

Next week is the last week we will be setting literacy and numeracy work for the children. The following two weeks we will be encouraging the children to take part in some sport related activities, a little bit like we would on sports day. Then on the final week of term we will make available plans which includes outside activities which can be then continued in the summer holidays.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience in such testing times, and as always please remember whether your child is attending school or not, we are still here to help in any way we can.

Take care,

Mrs S. McBeth
