Election Day

At Jarrow Cross, we don’t just talk about democracy — we live it!

In January, our pupils took part in an exciting election to choose new members of the School Council, with every class voting for their representative. The atmosphere was buzzing as children cast their votes and waited to see who would be chosen to take on this important role. The results were then announced in our celebration worship.

Our School Council members have a big job ahead of them. They’ll be:

  • Organising projects and whole‑school worships

  • Building links with our local community

  • Acting as Health Champions, working alongside our You, Me and the World lead to support events such as Mental Health Week, Refugee Week, Anti‑Bullying Week, and many more

We are so proud of our pupils for embracing the values of democracy, responsibility, and teamwork. Congratulations to our newly elected councillors — we can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make!
