Intent

It is our intent to create an outlet for creativity, self-expression, and individual uniqueness.  Through music appreciation, pupils will discover unique aspects of their relationships with the wider world, both in their own and other cultures. Children will be given the opportunity to compose and play instruments in groups, therefore providing a natural medium for discussion, interactions and turn taking.

Impact

We use formative assessment to measure the impact of our Computing curriculum, which is recorded and monitored on a tracking system. Evidence of learning and experiences can be found in books and through conversations with our children. The Computing lead monitors the teaching and evidence of the subject through book and planning scrutinies, alongside observations of lessons and conversations with the staff team. Our Knowledge Organisers, ongoing retrieval PowerPoints (see Year Group page) and many other activities and strategies are used to revisit and recap prior learning, and to assess retained facts.
