Year 3

In September we had the most amazing time at West Boldon Lodge. We spent the day living as stone age people. We got to build our own shelters from branches, which we had to select from the woodland. Also we made bread which we cooked on the camp fire - we had to start our own fire first though using flint. In the afternoon we did cave paintings and made spears from willow and flint.

October

This month we have been creating some amazing artwork with autumn leaves. We looked closely at the textures, patterns and colours. Working in groups we designed these wonderful pieces of art by layering individual leaves as well as arranging my tone and colour.

November

This month we took part in an Egyptian fact finding trail to find geographical features of Egypt.

December

This month we had the most amazing time at the Dance Festival. We learned a new routine and then took part in a dance off.

January

This month in Design Technology we have been learning how bread is made. We tasted many different types of bread and evaluated each one including the packaging of the breads. We were surprised at how many different types of bread were available! Also we will be making our own Roman flat bread and will design our own packaging.
