Intent

It is our intent that our English curriculum will provide essential knowledge, opportunities and skills that enable our pupils to participate fully as members of society which requires them to effectively apply all the skills of language. They will be taught to speak clearly and confidently using standard English underpinned by a continually developing command of vocabulary. Children will read fluently and cultivate a love of reading for pleasure supporting their acquisition of knowledge in all curricular areas. In writing they will develop stamina and skills to write at length with accurate spelling and punctuation.
