Letter to Parents from Mrs McBeth 10.9.21

Friday 10th September 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have all had a good week. Just to let you know that all of the children have settled back into the school routine really quickly and we have all had a lovely first week back at school. The children have all come back exceptionally smart, so a big thank you to you all for supporting us with the correct uniform. Just a quick note, black jogging bottoms should only be worn on PE days and PE kit consists of a white T- shirt, black shorts or jogging bottoms and red school jumper.

Here are just a few pieces of information for the term ahead. Firstly, please see below the day on which each class has PE.

Reception – Thursday

Y1 – Tuesday

Y2- Tuesday

Y3/4S- Thursday

Y3/4E and Y3/4H- Friday

Y5- (both classes) Monday

Y5T- Wednesday

Y5G- Thursday

Y6S-  PE Monday, Swimming on Wednesday

Y6W- PE Wednesday, Swimming on Monday

An important piece of information to share with you is that we have a new Chair of Governors. Claire Aberdeen has now taken over the role from Nicola Davison. I know you will all join with me in thanking Nicola for all of her hard work and support over the last few years, wish her well in her new ventures and welcome our new chair on board.

I know that you will be aware that the regulations regarding isolation and COVID have changed as now children under 18, and adults who have received both of their jabs, no longer need to isolate. To help with any queries an information sheet of FAQ is available on our website as is our updated Risk Assessments and COVID 19 Management Plan. Please be assured we continue to promote good hygiene rules and ventilation around the school.

If you wish your child to receive milk this term the final date for payment is October 10th. The cost has remained the same at £9.10.

Please remember also if you wish your child to have a packed lunch from home for the lunchtime period this must be requested by letter via the office.

Over the next week each class will be sending out information specific to their year group. Please watch out for this.

This week your child will have brought home the parental consent form to receive the Nasal Flu spray. We have been given a very quick turnaround to return the forms to the nursing service so if you could please return the form as soon as possible it would be very helpful as they are getting picked up by the Nursing Team on Tuesday 14th September 2021.

Just a quick note regarding attendance. If your child is absent, please contact the main office. A message can be left on the answerphone. Please do not use Dojo to report absences. Teachers are very busy first thing each morning and therefore as I am sure you can appreciate messages do not always get passed on.

We will be starting our Free Food Friday in the next few weeks. We did run down our stocks just before the summer holidays, therefore any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, our new Reception children start on Monday. I am sure you will join us in welcoming them to our school family.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs McBeth
