Poverty Proofing
Recently we participated in a Poverty Proofing Audit conducted by Children North East. The Audit looked at many areas of school life and the support which children and families are given for such things as uniform, food, homework, rewards, behaviour and attendance.
In the parent survey linked to the report 94% of families feel that the school is ‘always’ a welcoming place, regardless of financial background. (6% stated ‘Don’t know).
To support parents to budget a recommendation from the report was to create an annual costings calendar.
This has been created, sent out to parents and can be found in the parents section of the website.
Also to further support families we are now offering many of our After School Clubs free of charge.
