Letter to Parents from Mrs Mcbeth 12.6.20

Friday 12th June

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you are well. Here is just yet another update with a number of matters.

We welcomed some of our Reception children back to school this week. I am pleased to say it has been a lovely week. The children soon got back into their routine and settled back in very well. There have been no issues with our staggered drop offs and pick-ups and the children have quickly become accustomed to being in their bubble.

Our Year 1 children are due to return on Monday, we are really looking forward to having them back and Miss Richardson, Mrs Watson and Mrs Webster have lots of lovely activities planned for them. At the moment it is still the plan for Year 6 to return on 22nd June. You will receive a text next week confirming this. If you have not already could you, please confirm with the office as to whether your child is returning or not.

I am sure you will have heard the Government’s Announcement this week regarding schools not opening for other year groups before September. I know this will have not come as surprise to yourselves as I have stated in previous letters that unless government guidance changed we would simply not be able to accommodate other year groups.  This does not however, change the fact that this is a very sad decision as it would have been our greatest wish to see all of our children before September.

Regarding September unfortunately yet again I am unable to give you any clear information about what plans are for schools reopening in September. What I can stress however is that staff are already planning ahead for a curriculum which will support all children to make both the practical, academic and emotional transition back into school.

If you remember last week I did ask for you to inform us by today if you are a Key worker and needed your child to attend school. If you have not already done so could you please contact us by the end of today, as moving forward I cannot guarantee that a place will be available.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience in such testing times, and as always please remember whether your child is attending school or not, we are still here to help in any way we can.

Take care,

Mrs S. McBeth
