Letter to Parents from Mrs McBeth 16.11.20

Monday 16th November

Dear Parents/Carers,

As I know you will be aware we have now had four positive cases of COVID 19 in the last week. All are isolated cases within their year group and are not connected. We obviously wish all those involved a speedy recovery. Sending children home is very difficult for all involved and please be aware that all decisions are made in line with Public Health England guidance who we must contact as soon as we are made aware of a positive case.

In the current circumstances we would urge you to err on the side of caution and keep your child at home if they show any signs of being unwell. At the moment this advice would be for any type of symptom, not simply a temperature, cough or loss of taste or smell.

I cannot thank parents enough for your support over the last few difficult days, I am fully aware this is an anxious time for everyone and the understanding of each parent whom we have had to contact has made an extremely difficult time a little easier to bear. As we are the largest school in the area with over 300 pupils it is perhaps not surprising we have had positive cases, but this is clearly no compensation to everyone involved.

We like yourself look forward to a time when life becomes ‘normal again’ and our children can attend and experience school life as it should be.

Thank you again,

Mrs McBeth
