Letter to Parents from Mrs McBeth 23.9.20

Wednesday 23rd September

Dear Parents/Carers,

I know you will be all fully aware that yesterday we received notification that one of our children had tested positive for Corona Virus. This understandably is a very worrying time for everyone, first and foremost for the child’s family and obviously for the children who were then consequently sent home. Thankfully the child is fully on the mend and obviously we hope all of the other children remain fit and healthy.

Once we have a positive case in school our priority at that point is to obviously stop the spread of infection. We however do not have any control over the virus being brought in. Clearly children are attending dancing, football etc after school and on weekends mixing with different children and we would always support this. Many of the staff including myself have been Dance or Football Mums and Dad’s and fully understand the importance of these groups both physically and socially. I would just simply ask that if you are not happy with the socialising or hygiene procedures that are in place at these groups that you discuss this with the coach/instructor.

Can I just also add that as it is not mandatory for face mask to be worn in the grounds of primary schools if parents feel that social distancing at certain points of the day is difficult that is absolutely parents’ choice to wear them and we would certainly support  this.

Thank you so much again for your support yesterday. It was without doubt a very difficult and upsetting situation and one that I do hope we do not have to repeat soon.

Kind regards,

Mrs McBeth
