Letter to Parents from Mrs McBeth - COVID 19 Update

Monday 1st November 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday we received notification from Public Health and the Local Authority (see attached letter) stating that in order to reduce the transmission of COVID 19 in schools a number of temporary measures must now be put in place.

In summary this means from tomorrow, as was previous practice all parents/carers will be encouraged to wear a mask when dropping off or collecting children. (We will send out a text as a reminder).

We have also been asked to reduce mixing of year groups, therefore we will be returning to staggered breaks and lunches. Please note there will be no change to the beginning and end of the school day.

Also if a child is identified as being a close contact to a positive case it is recommended that they have a PCR test. Please note it is now also recommended that children remain at home until they receive a negative result from their PCR Test.

The Local Authority are holding a meeting tomorrow to discuss amongst other issues the feasibility of running After School Clubs, therefore, unfortunately until we receive an update After School Clubs will not begin this week. We do hope that they can begin next week, but will obviously keep you informed.

I know you will be as disappointed as we are that we are having to implement the above measures, but know that you will agree that obviously the health of our school community must come first.

As always thank you for your support and please read the attached letter.

Mrs McBeth
