Thursday 15th October
Dear Parents/Carers,
As this half term draws to a close I would like to take the opportunity to inform you of a number of upcoming events.
Firstly, our school has been lucky enough to be accepted for all of our children to receive a free healthy breakfast from the National School Breakfast Programme. This is part of a Covid response offer, which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast. The benefits of a healthy breakfast are huge, including very importantly children being settled and ready to learn at the start of the day. Our plan therefore is to provide all children with a bagel each morning. This will begin on Monday 19th October. Our daily Breakfast Club will not be effected by our participation in the programme and it will simply run as normal.
Next week we are celebrating Harvest Festival, obviously we cannot celebrate it in our usual manner, but our Year 1 children are busy working hard to produce a Virtual Harvest Festival which will be placed on our website next week. Please watch out for it. We realise times are very difficult at the moment so will be collecting tins etc to donate to various charities from the whole school. If you would like to make a donation simply pop something in the box next to the office.
Next half term we will be holding our Parent’s Evening. Unfortunately, we will not be able to invite parents into school as we would usually do so, but will be offering parents a ten minute phone call with their child’s teacher. Appointments can be made through the normal online booking process, so please watch out for a text and email informing you to click the link to make the appointment.
Appointments for teachers will be on the following days and be available from 1pm to 5pm
Monday 9th November: Y2 Miss Schofield, Reception Mrs Peacock, Y4/5 Miss Elcoate
Y1 Mrs Watson, Y6 Mrs Watson.
Monday 16th November: Y1 Miss Richardson, Y2 Mrs Wilson, Y3 Miss McGuire, Y4/5 Miss Glen.
Monday 23rd November: Y4/5 Mr Taggart, Y6 Miss Pearce, Reception Mrs Armstrong, Y3 Mrs Holt.
As always thank you for your ongoing support through which there can be no denying has been a difficult term. The children have been amazing and very quickly adapted to all of our new social distancing rules and routines.
Don’t forget to watch out for Year 1’s Virtual Harvest next week, and just a quick reminder that school breaks up for half term on Friday 23rd October and due to an INSERVICE Day school reopens on Tuesday 3rd November.
Take Care,
Mrs McBeth
