Dear Parents/Carers,
Further to the information you received last term regarding NEU Strike Action I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for the next NEU strike days on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March. As I informed you previously the strike is happening due to a national dispute between the unions and the government.
I’m getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible about our arrangements for 15th and 16th March. Teaching staff are not all members of the same union, therefore, I must inform you that school will be closed for children who are in the following classes:
Y2 Mrs Watson
Y3/4S
Y3/4M
Y5G
Please Note Year 6 will be attending school as usual.
Please note the 100% attendance of any child in any of the above classes will not be affected by not being in school that day.
If your child is not in any of the above classes they will attend school as usual. Breakfast Club and After School Clubs will also run as usual for all children who can attend school.
Remote Learning- The children have a number of passwords for a variety of programmes, such as Times Table Rockstars and Reading Plus, we would be very grateful if you could encourage them to log onto them during the day.
If your child is entitled to a to Benefit Related Free School Meal, packed lunches will be available to be picked up from the school office at 12 o’ clock on the day of the strike. However, I am sure you will understand that they must be ordered so if you would a like a lunch provided for your child please complete and return the form below by Monday 13th March.
I’m sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child at short notice, and that they will experience disruption to their education. I understand that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect. We are working closely with our staff union representatives to keep up to date with the situation, and I will inform you as soon as possible if arrangements change further.
If you have any questions, please contact the office or send an email to the address listed at the top of this letter.
Kind regards,
Mrs McBeth
