Our important visitors from South Shield's Football Club

Today we had a a surprise visit from two players from South Shields first team, Jon Shaw and Ursene Mouanda (one of which is a parent of our children).

They discussed the importance of play and how we learn best through play and being active at our age.

The children were given the opportunity to ask lots of questions where we delved into the life of a footballer, finding out their likes and dislikes and what inspired them to become a sportsman.

The players presented our Year 6 Sport leaders with a signed South Shields FC football top, donated to our school for our Easter raffle next week!

A big thank you to Nathan and Steve from South Shields Foundation for making this morning happen and we look forward to working with them in September.
Year 4 Athletics

A fantastic event from the year 4 children at Temple Park for the Sportshall Athletics. We had various events such as: group events of an obstacle relay and a hurdles relay; and individual events such as Vertical Jump, Soft Javelin, Speed Bounce and Standing Long Jump.
Glee Club at Durham Cathedral

The choir had an amazing time singing at Durham Cathedral with several other schools. The songs they sang were really hard and they had to sing in rounds as well as singing harmonies and different words from each other. Well done, Glee Club! I am super proud of all your hard work.

Year 1 Discovery Museum Trip

Year 1 had a great day at the Discovery Museum taking part in a toy workshop and explored the circus exhibition and enjoyed a toy scavenger hunt looking for toys old and new.
