Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Year 1 visited the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. They looked at old and new toys and
took part in a Treasure Hunt. They were so well behaved that a lady who was at the museum on a visit with her little boy even sent an email to Mrs McBeth telling her that we were a credit to Jarrow Cross!
Some of our year 3 and 4 children visited the Urban factory in Hebburn to try out their Parkour skills. Parkour is an athletic training discipline in which you attempt to get from point A to point B in most efficient way possible. We certainly gave it a good try!
Yesterday some of our Year 2 children visited West Park in Jarrow. During their visit they planted some new tree saplings to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee in June. They met the Deputy Lord Lieutenant who told them about the initiative from the Queen to plant as many trees as possible for the Jubilee. Let's hope our trees grow big, strong and quickly.
To celebrate international Women's Day some of our Y6 girls attended a special event at The Beacon of Light. They took part in workshops celebrating inspirational females and role models. The girls received tickets to cheer on Sunderland AFC Ladies later this month when they take on Watford and also met Samson the Cat!
This week Deborah Rodney from Nexus came to talk to us about being safe at Metro stations and near the Metro lines.
Did you know a Metro train weighs 80 tonnes and it takes 150 meters for it to stop once the driver puts on his brakes!
Here are the prize winners from each class who produced excellent work based on their World Book Day activities. Well done!
