Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Last Wednesday 20 pupils represented Jarrow Cross at the Year 5/6 South Tyneside Quad Kids Athletics competition. Dozens of pupils had come along to school trials and given the excellent standard on display, we entered two teams of ten into the competition.
On the day itself, every pupil had to run 600m, take part in a 75m sprint, throw the howler (javelin) and finally have a try at the standing long jump. The effort, resilience and enthusiasm from both Jarrow Cross A and B teams was excellent and many of our pupils won their various heats. In the end Jarrow Cross A just missed out on the top 3, finishing in 5th. Our B team (made up mainly of Y5 pupils) finished an excellent 11th. Out of 37 teams, both teams put in a wonderful performance.
While competing, times and distances for each event were recorded and out of the 185 girls taking part, Ava M in Y6 was awarded the silver medal for the second top score. An amazing achievement which was celebrated by all the pupils involved demonstrating the excellent team spirit shown on the day!

Year 1 had a great time at Blagdon Farm. We learned all about dairy cows and chickens! We tasted lots of different kinds of milk, made our own butter and also made some flower bombs for our forest school. A great day was had by all!
