Firstly, I would like to thank all of you who took the time to complete our parental questionnaire last term. We were delighted with the response as 121 of our families took part.

    Parents comments:

    • I couldn’t be happier with the learning, care and support my child experiences whilst at school. Thank you
    • Great teachers and welcoming
    • The school continues to provide a wonderful place for children of all abilities to thrive
    • This is the 2nd child I have had go through the school and the school cannot do enough for its pupils. The teachers go above and beyond for every pupil.
    • Fantastic school, friendly caring staff. My children love coming here.
    • The school has a lovely and nurturing ethos and environment. The teachers are caring and the children feel secure and supported in their learning.
    • Brilliant school, excellent teachers and always there if you need support whether it’s for yourself or your family.

The above are just a very small selection of the positive comments which were made by parents. As always we are so very grateful for your support. We continue to be overwhelmed by the support we receive from our school community. If anyone would like a full breakdown of the questionnaire including all comments simply pop into the office to collect a copy.

For obvious reasons the questionnaire was anonymous, however we would urge any parent who has an issue with any part of school life to contact us directly if you would like to discuss it further.

This term promises to be a very busy one. Our Year 6 children are taking their end of year SAT’s during week beginning 9th May for which we obviously wish them the very best of luck.

We will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this term. More information regarding how you can become involved will follow soon. This term we hope to invite you all into school to view your child’s work and take part in activities alongside your child. It is such a long time since we have been able to do this that we are looking forward to opening our doors again! Also we will be holding our usual Sports Day etc, again more information regarding dates will follow soon.

  • Year 2 Visit to the Openzone

    Wed 27 Apr 2022

Year 2 had a fantastic time at the Openzone where they used Lego Computer Programming called WeDo to make Lego models and then attach motors to make them move. They also used PurpleMash to make a matching pairs game and learned how to save their work! Phew! What a day they had.

  • End of Spring Term newsletter 2022

    Fri 01 Apr 2022

    Friday 1st April 2022

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As the term draws to a close, here are just a few pieces of information for next week and the term ahead.

For the first time in two years we are able to hold our Holy Trail. This will be held on Wednesday 6th April. Each year the local church community comes into school and shares with the children the last few days of Jesus’ life. Each class starts the trail at a different time. Please note children in the mixed Y3/4 classes will take part as a single year group not combined (see below). The whole school will then join together for a short Easter Service at 11.45am. If you would like to join your child’s class on the trail, simply come in to school for the appropriate time or if you would like to join us for just the service please arrive for 11.45am.

PLEASE NOTE Reception Children will not be taking part in The Holy Trail as they are planning to hold a Parent’s Craft session that morning. Information will be sent direct to yourselves.

It has been lovely to be eventually able to have the children out and about more regularly. Throughout this the last half term Year 1 have visited The Discovery Museum, Year 2 have been to the West Park and planted trees for the Queen’s Jubilee, Year 5 have taken part in orienteering activities and of course some of our Year 5 and 6 children have just returned from their residential visit to Kielder. Hopefully next term we will be able to continue with our trips and visits.

Thank you to all of those parents who took part in our recent Parent/Teacher discussions. If you missed your call please do not hesitate to get in touch to rearrange. As a follow up we will be conducting a Parent Survey over the next few days. Please watch out for a text containing a link.

Next term After School Clubs will restart, the children will be bringing home the new brochure next week.
